(3/3) CHAOS ON CANNON! Officer Ladd Melone (Junior) holds a press conference regarding the car chase that lead to the shootout near SCHS earlier today. "We now know that multiple staff members were in on the operation" he said. "An anonymous tip told us that someone had sabatoged the hoopcoming game by filling the player's waterbottles with laxitives. Our chief detective, Sam Bodnar (Senior), found simular bottles of laxitives in the teachers lounge- which was enough evidece to bring some teachers in for questioning. After 40 minutes of Good-cop/Bad-cop interrigation, Peterson was the first to snap- he cracked like an egg, then Deputy Pam threw him in the fryer; overeasy. We learned of an underground varsity gambling ring that was manipulating the games to bring in the dough, mostly comprised of teachers. They would schedule tests the day of a game, fill AP classes with student athletes, and assign illegal amounts of homework -a violation of UN Human Rights. Thursday morning; the sting we set up was going to plan, our man handed over the money to the suspects -but as soon as we radioed in the arrest our agent was double crossed. Officers pursued the two pickup trucks down El Camino, right into our roadblock at the intersection. The suspects were surrounded at this point, then the bullets started flying. The standoff turned into a hostage negotiation when Bobby the Bobcat was brought out of the trunk and held for randsom. Thanks to the bravery of Sheriff Rhonda, Bobby was saved and no officers were harmed" The teachers were charged with multiple felonies, including grand theft auto, arson, aggravated assault, and more. Yet thanks to their tenure, most should be back in school by Friday.
