The fish lived on the venti Starbucks cup of water for a few days and in that time acquired the name “Old Sport” via [[Class of 2018]] members [[Duncan Kelley]] and [[Glen Nagle]]. This was a reference to ‘’The Great Gatsby’’ which the [[English]] class the two were enrolled in was reading at the time. | |||
After a few days of life in a Starbucks cup, Old Sport was moved into a fish bowl with gravel and plants supplied by [[Class of 2018]] member [[Joey Babcock]]. | |||
Old Sport lived in this enclosure for about a month until one student noticed that Old Sport was no longer moving. To avoid causing Kuehl sadness, during lunch students swapped out the first Old Sport for a new one without her noticing. | |||
Generally neglected and without much natural light, Old Sport II lived for another month or so before dying of natural causes. | |||
