On January 27th, 2016, Sage Creek faced it's rival and sister school, Carlsbad High School in basketball at home, and won 51-48 due to a buzzer beating 3 point shot by Christian Janke[2]. This game was a blackout game[3].

On February 12th, 2016, Sage Creek faced CHS at Carlsbad High School, but lost 49-54.[4]
