The Battle of The Fans was a short lived cross county event that encouraged students from a variety of high schools to see who had the most jubilant fans. However instead of sparking friendly competition the [[Sage Creek-Carlsbad Game of 2017]] saw the spark of something no one wanted. When [[Carlsbad High School]] Students attending the game decided to hold up three 'K' signs in a sinister formation during the white out game, a pseudo conflict erupted on the social media platforms of Twitter and Instagram. Known as the [[Sage Creek-Carlsbad Flame War of 2017]] it saw many students get apprehended for vulgar comments and profanities. In the end however, both schools were disqualified and as of [[2018]] Sage Creek has not participated in any other Battle of The Fans event.

About

KUSI Sports Battle of the Fans is a competition based on several aspects of student sections at high schools around the greater San Diego area.

Sage Creek High School and Carlsbad High School often compete head to head, with intense competition between the two.

In the past, this has been the subject of much controversy, going as far as making national news as in SCHS vs CHS Basketball Game 2017.

Sage Creek's first win in this competition was Battle of the Fans 2019.
