As Sage Creek doesn’t have a football team, this game is viewed as important by both schools since it is for the most part evenly matched (by win/loss not by school population or division).
For the most part the schools have handed off winning and losing about equal games despite Sage Creek having almost half the population size, and competing in other sports at >D3 while Carlsbad is generally a D1 School.
