The Battle of The Fans was a short lived cross county event that encouraged students from a variety of high schools to see who had the most jubilant fans. However instead of sparking friendly competition the [[Sage Creek-Carlsbad Game of 2017]] saw the spark of something no one wanted. When [[Carlsbad High School]] Students attending the game decided to hold up three 'K' signs in a sinister formation during the white out game, a pseudo conflict erupted on the social media platforms of Twitter and Instagram. Known as the [[Sage Creek-Carlsbad Flame War of 2017]] it saw many students get apprehended for vulgar comments and profanities. In the end however, both schools were disqualified and as of [[2018]] Sage Creek has not participated in any other Battle of The Fans event. | The Battle of The Fans was a short lived cross county event that encouraged students from a variety of high schools to see who had the most jubilant fans.
