Traffic in the Cannon/College intersection dies down a bit after the bell has rung.

About

Traffic at Sage Creek is notoriously bad due to there only being one entrance and exit road into and out of the campus. As the number of cars has increased at Sage Creek, specifically the student drivers, the traffic has grown in sync.

In addition, the construction of the Performing Arts Center has also caused this traffic to become much worse on the occasion that construction equipment breaks down in the middle of the lane, or requires shutting down part of the drop-off.

Pre-Full Four Classes Years

In the years before there was a full four classes, and before construction on the Performing Arts Center had begun, traffic was much less of a problem. Since there was no student drivers during the 2013-2014 school year, and very few student drivers in the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years, most people went to the Roundabout at the front of the school to drop off their kids.

This meant that there was no need to stop traffic and traffic moved as fast as the 20-car or so drop off area could handle. All three Parking Lots were open as well and if time was an issue, students would be dropped off in the parking lots.

SCHSDrivers

In late second trimester of the 2017-2018 school year, an Instagram account (@schsdrivers) was created documenting the poor driving of morning commuters.

It featured a number of common maneuvers performed by usually parents including the Cannon Cutoff and gridlocking the cannon/college intersection.
