KUSI Sports ''Battle of the Fans'' is a competition based on several aspects of student sections at high schools around the area. However instead of sparking friendly competition the [[SCHS vs CHS Basketball Game 2017]] saw the spark of something no one wanted. When [[Carlsbad High School]] Students attending the game decided to hold up three 'K' signs in a sinister formation during the white out game, a pseudo-conflict erupted on the social media platforms of Twitter and Instagram. Known as the [[Sage Creek- Carlsbad Flame War of 2017]] it saw many students get apprehended for vulgar comments and profanities. In the end, however, both schools were disqualified.
